Revenue by product…

CHART OF THE DAY: The iPad Is Already Bigger Than The iPod — And Half As Big As The Mac.

It’s a really impressive graph, all the products either maintain or grow revenues.

Compare it with this…

Note: the Microsoft one is profits and Apple revenues. But you get the idea.

“no attempt to check accuracy”…

When you have to apologize like this…

The Media Blog: Daily Star forced to admit it “made no attempt to check accuracy” of Raoul Moat story, pays damages

…you should probably just give up calling yourself a journalist.

Redesigning the Boarding Pass…

Redesigning the Boarding Pass – Journal – Boarding Pass / Fail

Every single suggestion is better than the original. The original is the only one that someone was paid to design!

I’m willing to bet that the original design was either “evolved” from an original engineering prototype or approved by committee.

Ordered a bumper on Saturday; received shipping email on Monday.

Strange because the App said 3-5 weeks delivery.

“To see what makes thecentre:mk special, go to the new mall next door: Midsummer Place, an inept design of “friendly” wavy roofs and tacky materials which contrasts with the original vision in almost every way.”

Milton Keynes shopping centre becomes Grade II listed

thecentre:mk is not a spelling error. The idiots think that this makes it more appealing.

Barcelona and Chicago…

So I’m sitting in the Gothic center of Barcelona reading this…

The image of a man you do not see – Roger Ebert’s Journal

And just to add to the mix, this morning I went and saw the German Pavilion; built by Mies.

I never liked the Tribune Towers or the Wrigley building. However, I love federal plaza but not IBM Plaza.

They look the same but they’re not!

Everything is about situation and the surrounding area. It’s why the Berlin Jewish Museum is so good and the Imperial War Museum in Manchester so bad; yet the actual buildings are so similar.

Try it again; Bilbao Guggenheim is amazing and the Walt Disney Concert hall a poor copy.

Which brings me back to Barcelona, it works because the mixture is mixed so well.
