Legal disclaimers…

“So why are the disclaimers there? Company lawyers often insist on them because they see others using them. As with Latin vocabulary and judges’ robes, once something has become a legal habit it has a tendency to stick.”

Legal disclaimers: Spare us the e-mail yada-yada | The Economist.

The thing that I hate is that they’re added to my email automatically; I don’t get a say in the matter.

Computer Weekly…

I used to read Computer Weekly every week and found a job in its pages. It’s a real rag but it’s a legendry rag.

“The first issue of Computer Weekly magazine in 1966 was the start of an era in the UK IT industry – the first ever weekly technology publication. When the final print edition of the magazine comes out on 19 April, it will be the start of another exciting era, where Computer Weekly goes fully digital, reflecting the dramatic changes that the internet has brought to not just our business but those of all our readers.”

In 1966 England won the World Cup and Computer Weekly launched the world’s first weekly IT newspaper – 4/8/2011 – Computer Weekly.
