Apple results…

Apple sold 3.76 million Macs during the quarter, a 28 percent unit increase over the year-ago quarter. The Company sold 18.65 million iPhones in the quarter, representing 113 percent unit growth over the year-ago quarter. Apple sold 9.02 million iPods during the quarter, representing a 17 percent unit decline from the year-ago quarter. The Company also sold 4.69 million iPads during the quarter.

“With quarterly revenue growth of 83 percent and profit growth of 95 percent, we’re firing on all cylinders,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO

That’s a good business.

They do all this with over 40% margins!!! 40%!!!

It’s all true…

Front Row dies?

Front Row was one of those bits of software that I loved but was hard to explain.

Pixelmator Grosses $1 Million…

I’m on the record as saying that the Mac App Store will be big and that Pixelmator has a chance to be one of the big winners.

Seems that they’ve made a good start.

This is lovely.

You’re supposed to believe that financial analysts have a better understanding of a market and a company than everyone else.

The BEST prediction was out by 100%.

Apple’s CEO will leave the company…

Farhad Manjoo is beginning to get on my nerves. I’m assuming that this was written as link bait.

This is almost farcical…

“Since returning to Apple in 1996, Jobs has pushed the company to achieve one of his long-held goals—to turn computers into mainstream appliances as ubiquitous and easy-to-use as televisions, toasters, and food processors. He has been stunningly successful in achieving that vision. And now he’s probably done.”

That’s right. Jobs has no more product ideas and is really interested in proving an intellectual point before retirement.

Slate used to be better than this. I now listen to the podcasts more than read the paper. Articles like this are why.

Makes sense…

Pixelmator is a fantastic piece of software and it’s a fraction of the price of buying from Adobe. Adobe haven’t even turned for the fight.

This could be the start of something VERY big for them.
