Anxiety…
“By removing slack, airlines create failure. In order to increase profit, airlines work hard to get the maximum number of flights out of each plane, each day. As a result, there are no spares, no downtime and no resilience. By assuming that their customer base prefers to save money, not anxiety, they create an anxiety-filled system.”

The worst part of this list is that it describes modern life; not just the worst parts of it!
Come and join the crisis…
What if money was no object?
I wish I could have found the words as well as this.
I wonder how many people gave up on a dream for the money.
In related news, often you hear bankers saying that they need to earn large amounts because it’s such an awful/difficult job. They should do us all a favor and give up for something else.
Kelvin MacKenzie…
“Where does that leave me?”
Leaves you where you’ve been for the last thirty years. Without shame or a soul.
New health secretary…
“To be clear, a Health Minister who believes in magic sugar pills is like a Chancellor who believes – literally – in money trees. Or a Transport Minister who believes in perpetual motion.”
Sounds great!
Go Edwina…
There is only one…
Last night it was Edwina Currie who tweeted that “Italians are gorgeous even in wheelchairs”.

The People’s Prince…
Shouldn’t treat the playboy prince like any other cheap TV star, he deserves special treatment as a decedent of a medieval royal!!!
“The prince, who is third in line to the throne, is shown without clothing in two pictures taken on his trip to Las Vegas.
Royal aides are understood to be urging the British media to respect the prince’s privacy and not republish the photographs, which are likely to have been taken without his consent.”

Time to end the torture of these people. End the royal family and he can answer his calling as the male Paris Hilton.
Niall Ferguson…
I tried watching the documentary series called the Ascent of Money but gave up about half way through. I found Ferguson unconvincing in his analysis and bombastic in his presentation.
Since “everyone” was reading the book I assumed that I was an idiot. Then I see this and feel better.
“At The Atlantic, and with the searing headline “As a Harvard Alum, I Apologize,” James Fallows writes, “A tenured professor of history at my undergraduate alma mater has written a cover story for Daily Beast/Newsweek that is so careless and unconvincing that I wonder how he will presume to sit in judgment of the next set of student papers he has to grade.”

This for real???
Is this for real? It’s amazing that I get paid at all.
