The Gaps New Logo…

What does this mean?

“Now, given the passionate outpouring from customers that followed, weve decided to engage in the dialogue, take their feedback on board and work together as we move ahead and evolve to the next phase of Gap.”

Marka Hansen: The Gaps New Logo

I thought that the old logo was ageless. The new one looks a bit like an office cleaning company.

Hack of the day…

I suppose that this is what happens when you put software online and ask people to test it.

“Within 36 hours of the system going live, our team had found and exploited a vulnerability that gave us almost total control of the server software, including the ability to change votes and reveal voters’ secret ballots. In this post, I’ll describe what we did, how we did it, and what it means for Internet voting.”

Kenneth Clarke on geeks…

“If I was a sort of floating voter, I would say ‘this is a very attractive sort of geek here, but is he actually anybody who can run anything’? Geeks are people who should advise people who lead countries and lead governments, it seems to me.”

I suppose what the UK government needs is more public school boys who’ve done nothing but study politics and work in marketing.

IHES photos…

As an added bonus you can play “Where’s Mrs W.”…

Editions Belin – Les déchiffreurs

More seriously a lovely series of photos together with text that gives a small idea of what it’s like working in the world of pure maths.
