I think I understand the point but we got to this place by choice.
In the early 80s western governments decided that the way forward was for us all to work more. That way we would beat communism and save the world. There would be no central planning, no social controls and we’d all work a lot harder.
If we want to move away from the current model, it’s not just about measuring wealth. It’s about how we value the different roles in society and how we value intangibles.
If John wants to start that fight; fine. I think that he knows what he’ll be doing for the rest of his life!
